Rosendahl announces with great pleasure that they have purchased the technology for seam welded smooth and corrugated metal tape sheathing systems from Weber & Scher Mfg. Co., Inc. by means of an intellectual property agreement.

The combination of Rosendahl Nextrom’s 60-year and Weber & Scher’s more than 100-year history provides the greatest depth of knowledge and expertise to customers in the cable market. Based on the experience gained from the prestigious collective customer base of 80 completed metal tape sheathing systems worldwide, the next generation of technology is becoming available to the industry.

According to Siegfried Altmann and Gerhard Jakopic, CEOs of Rosendahl Nextrom, “This transaction strengthens the company´s position as a complete turnkey system supplier. This is in line with our strong commitment to the global market segment for submarine, EHV and HV and MV cables.”

Greg and Doug Scher of Weber & Scher, say, “We are very pleased with and excited about this transaction!” Within the framework of this agreement, Weber & Scher will continue to service, support and supply parts/tooling to our existing customer base with welded metal tape sheathing systems. Furthermore, we will continue with our core business for the worldwide supply of smooth and corrugated overlapped tape sheathing systems as well as ancillary equipment, such as cable pay-offs, take-ups, capstans, accumulators, taping heads, etc.“
